Kafka Consumer

To add a consumer in Axibase Collector, open the Data Sources > Kafka Consumers page and click Add.

Settings

Field Description
Name Name of consumer.
Server or Servers A list of host/port pairs to use for establishing the initial connection to the Kafka cluster. The client makes use of all servers regardless of which servers are specified here for bootstrapping—this list only impacts the initial hosts used to discover the full set of servers.
This list must be in the form host1:port1,host2:port2,....
Since these servers are just used for the initial connection to discover the full cluster membership, which can change dynamically, this list need not contain the full set of servers but more that one is advisable, in case a server is down.
Security Protocol Protocol used to communicate with brokers.
Supported protocols:
- PLAINTEXT
- SSL
Read Timeout, seconds The amount of time in seconds to block message reading.
Poll Timeout, ms The amount of time in milliseconds to block waiting for input.

SSL Settings

If SSL protocol is selected, you need to configure additional settings:

Key Store Key stores:
* CUSTOM - use custom trust/key stores
* DEFAULT - use Collector stores
Trust Store Path The location of the trust store file.
Trust Store Password The password for the trust store file.
Two-Way Authentication Enable 2-Way Authentication (client verification).
Key Store Path The location of the key store file.
Key Store Password The store password for the key store file.
Key Alias The unique name of the entry in the store.
Key Password The password of the private key in the key store file.
